Trinchero Family Estates has forayed into hard seltzer category with the launch of Del Mar Wine Seltzer in the US market.

Available in four different flavours of black cherry, grapefruit, white peach and watermelon, the range will be shipped across the nation from the Trinchero Family Estates wine & Spirits portfolio.

Trinchero Family Estates marketing senior vice-president Dave Derby said: “As a family-owned Napa Valley winery with a legacy of giving consumers what they want, we made the decision to enter the space with a light, refreshing and sophisticated wine-based seltzer to challenge malt-based seltzers within the category.

“We are confident that consumers will appreciate our decision to leverage our 72 years of winemaking experience to create a grape-based seltzer made from transparent ingredients that they know and love.”

With 4% of alcohol by volume (ABV), the wine seltzer has been produced in Napa Valley using premium California grapes.

The company noted that its Black Cherry variant is made of California white wine and offers a hint of lavender in the blend, while the grapefruit is produced using California Rosé wine.

White Peach is produced using California white wine and has a hint of honeysuckle, while Watermelon variant made from California Rosé wine and offers a hint of mint.

Trinchero Family Estates claims that all its beverage variants are produced using simple ingredients, natural flavours with no added sugar and contains 95 calories per can.

The four flavours black cherry, grapefruit, white peach and watermelon will be available in 355ml cans and can be purchased for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $8.99 per four-can pack.
