The Family Coppola will be launching Great Women Spirits across select restaurants and retailers in the US from next month.

The Great Women Spirits range will initially begin with vodka, gin, and brandy.

Winemaker and film director Francis Ford Coppola of The Family Coppola said: "My mother, sister, wife, daughter, and granddaughters have all inspired me, as have all of the incredible women we celebrate with Great Women Spirits.

“We all know well the great men of history, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Napoleon and so on. I can think of as many women who distinguished themselves at that level in the fields of politics, science, mathematics, and philosophy, so my choices and reasons for this collection are very personal."

The brand claims that its spirits are proofed with the spring water from Coppola's Inglenook property in Napa Valley, which is naturally filtered through lava rock.

In addition, botanicals and grapes from The Family Coppola's properties have been used to enhance the spirits' flavours.

The Family Coppola plans to make an official launch of the Great Women Spirits on Ada Lovelace Day on 10 October in San Francisco.
