MillerCoors’ brand Redd’s Wicked is set to launch a watermelon flavoured beer in the US market from next month.

The company’s current line-up features black cherry and apple flavours.

With 8% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), the new addition is said to offer a dark golden copper hue and watermelon aroma.

It will be available in 16oz and 24oz single-serve cans, as well as 12-packs of 10oz cans.

“We know people like choice, and that’s especially important in the premium higher-ABV singles category.”

The company will also be launching its redesigned packaging, which is aimed to strengthen the product’s visibility in the retail segment.

Redd’s Wicked is also planning to re-release Wicked Strawberry Kiwi as a limited-edition drink, having been initially launched in March last year with 8% ABV.

Redd’s Wicked senior marketing manager Frank Cirone said: “The gains we’ve seen from Redd’s Wicked Apple show us that our drinkers like what we’re offering and trust the Wicked brand.

“Now we’re bringing even more to the table with the launch of Wicked Watermelon and the return of Strawberry Kiwi, both of which we expect our consumers will embrace.

“We know people like choice, and that’s especially important in the premium higher-ABV singles category. When they see the entire Wicked lineup, we know they are inclined to grab more.”
