UK supermarket Aldi has launched two non-alcoholic wines to meet an increasing demand for low and no-alcohol drinks.

Called ZeroPointZero Sparking, the new beverage is available in White Brut and Rosé varients.

These 0% alcohol sparkling beverages provide an alternative to conventional sparkling wine for people who cannot drink alcohol and health-conscious consumers that wish to drink socially but want to avoid the often high-calorie offerings on the market.

The UK’s non-alcoholic drinks market has increased by 16% in the past two years, as health-conscious consumers seek lower-alcohol drinks.

“We’re always listening to our customers, to ensure we are providing them with quality, great value products, in line with demand.”

A bottle of ZeroPointZero Sparking contains 35 calories per serving, which is less than half of the calories found in other sparkling wines. Each bottle costs £2.49.

ZeroPointZero Sparking White Brut (75cl) combines fermented grape juice and premium green tea, delivering tastes of apple and pear.

ZeroPointZero Sparkling Rosé (7cl) balances non-alcoholic rosé with flavours of red and forest fruit.

Aldi’s UK buying managing director Julie Ashfield said: “We’re always listening to our customers, to ensure we are providing them with quality, great value products, in line with demand.

“As the trend towards health and wellbeing continues to grow, we’re delighted to be able to offer our shoppers two delicious no-alcohol alternatives to sparkling wine, so if they are choosing not to drink, they can still toast to any occasion.”

Aldi supermarket has more than 775 stores and 30,000 employees.
