Barrell Craft Spirits (BCS), a US-based whiskey and rum blender and bottler, has announced the launch of its new whiskey expression Barrell Armida.

The company claims that its new expression is a combination of three straight bourbon whiskeys that were finished separately in Pear Brandy, Jamaican Rum, and Sicilian Amaro casks.

Barrell Craft Spirits founder Joe Beatrice said: “With Armida, we set out to finish and blend whiskeys that tease the intended subtle flavours from the edges of perception into the forefront.

“We’re passionate about exploring opportunities to source and blend outside the box, and to showcase the world’s most exciting spirits. Armida helps to further advance our vision of the next chapter of whiskey in America.”

BCS explained that its whiskey offers notes of ripe, floral pear with hints of spice and arid citrus derived from Amaro casks.

With 56.06% alcohol by volume (ABV), Barrell Armida Bourbon whiskey is available at select retailers across the US, as well as through the company’s website.

Barrell Armida Bourbon Whiskey is a limited edition release, with only 3,700 bottles available for purchase for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $89.99.

In April 2018, Barrell Craft Spirits introduced its Infinite Barrel Project, a new whiskey blend created to honour the infinity bottle tradition of whiskey collectors.

Barrell Craft Spirits founder Joe Beatrice and master distiller Tripp Stimson created the Infinite Barrell Project by selecting barrels based on individual flavour concentrations and blending them into a single larger or ‘infinite’ vessel.
