US-based 3 Daughters Brewing has launched low-calorie, light beer The Floating Dock Light IPA in Florida.

The company claims that the new beer offers a bold, hand-crafted India pale ale (IPA) flavour, with only 118 calories. It is also said to contain 3% alcohol-by-volume (ABV).

3 Daughters Brewing CEO Mike Harting said: "We believe craft beer consumers are getting more sophisticated.

"The company claims that the new beer offers a bold, hand-crafted India pale ale (IPA) flavour, with only 118 calories."

"They still want the innovative, unique flavours that have become the trademark of the craft beer industry, but also want a light beer that pairs well with their active lifestyle."

The craft beer industry in the US has started providing nutritional information on the product labels for consumers who intend to know about the brews they consume. 3 Daughters Brewing has created a modern craft beer lab to test quality, consistency, and accuracy on nutritional information.

The Floating Dock Light IPA is currently offered in kegs. It will be offered in cans from November.
