UK-based spirits company Asterley Bros has launched a new amaro offering called Dispense Amaro.

Dispense Amaro is claimed to be handmade in South London using a mix of 24 botanicals, such as gentian, hops and wormwood, and blended with vermouth.

The spirit has been developed from British Pinot Noir, supplied by Gusbourne Estates in Kent, reported thespiritsbusiness.com.

"Rob and Jim Asterley had the idea of Dispense Amaro from their Sicilian family’s secret recipe for amaro."

The new offering, which takes more than three months to make, is produced using traditional techniques.

The drink is reported to come with a bitter orange aroma, a candied grapefruit taste and gentian, and has spice notes of cardamom and clove.

The creators Rob and Jim Asterley had the idea of Dispense Amaro from their Sicilian family’s secret recipe for amaro.

Amaro can be served either with tonic, a gin and tonic, or with a single cube of ice.

Asterley Brothers utlised the help of 500 tasters when searching for the right blend of flavours.

Dispense Amaro is currently available online at the recommended retaile price of £29.95 for a 500ml bottle.
