delivery.com, a platform for online ordering and on-demand delivery, has acquired BrewDrop, a Texas-based alcohol delivery app.

Set up in 2014 by Andrew Bell, Matthew Bell and Sergio Trevino, BrewDrop has built a large customer base that will help to bolster delivery.com’s growing alcohol business and geographic expansion efforts in key markets.

delivery.com claimed that BrewDrop users accustomed to ordering alcohol on-demand with their phones will find an easy transition to delivery.com, where they can order in much the same way as from delivery.com’s website and mobile app.

“We’re glad to welcome BrewDrop into the delivery.com family and excited to start serving their loyal customers.”

Further, users can have access to a network of more than 12,000 restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores and dry cleaners.

delivery.com CEO Jed Kleckner said: "Since BrewDrop already dominates alcohol delivery in Austin, they’re the perfect partner for bringing delivery.com’s one-stop shop convenience to this key expansion market.

"We’re glad to welcome BrewDrop into the delivery.com family and excited to start serving their loyal customers."

BrewDrop co-founder Andrew Bell will join delivery.com as director of market developmen. He will be in charge of expanding throughout Texas.

Alcohol is rapidly growing into a key revenue driver for delivery.com and after the acquisition, delivery.com expects to immediately increase its alcohol-ordering customer base by 10%.
