UK-based scotch whiskey maker Douglas Laing has introduced the first whiskey range of its Old Particular Consortium of Cards single cask scotch whiskey series.

With four releases planned this year, the first limited edition expression Queen of the Hebrides is themed around a deck of playing cards. The new expression features peated barley, tarry, and ashy flavours.

The Queen of the Hebrides' current release includes 15 single cask malts and five single cask grains.

Cameronbridge single grain bottlings are claimed to consist of bread and butter pudding, spices, and red apples.

Of the single malt offerings sourced from Speyside, the Highlands, and Islay, Glen Grant is reported to contain cinnamon apple pie, vanilla cream, and spicy oak, while the sherry hogshead charged Bruichladdich features PX sherry.

A total of 665 specially decorated bottles of the single refill, butt charged, 50% alcohol strength Queen of the Hebrides limited edition whiskey are available at scotch whiskey retailers.

Initially launched in 2013, the hand-selected and single casks aged Old Particular series is currently available across 50 markets. The series is claimed to be non-chill filtered in order to offer an expression of natural oils and enzymes.
