Scotland’s Douglas Laing has expanded its Remarkable Regional Malts series with the addition of The Gauldrons, exclusive malt from Campbeltown.

Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts series represent Scotland's Malt Whisky regions, where each bottling represents the characteristics of the region it is sourced from.

The new addition corresponds to the sixth region in the Regional Malt range.

The Gauldrons packaging features an intricate spider illustration to reflect the ancient legend of Scotland's King Robert the Bruce.

Douglas Laing managing director Fred Laing said: “We are delighted to add to our Remarkable Regional Malt family with this Campbeltown member, particularly as this region was once Scotland's Whisky Capital.

“The Gauldrons has seen us carefully marry together some of our best, and indeed rarest, casks of Campbeltown Single Malt. The resulting spirit is a unique combination of salt and sweet, the archetypal maritime tang balanced perfectly by a sugary, cereal character.”

With 46.2% alcohol by volume (ABV), the Gauldrons spirit is bottled without colouring or chill filtration, and will be available at specialist retailers for £50.
