US-based startup Fogdog Cold Brew has unveiled hydrodynamic cold brew coffee and tea.

Set to launch at Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, the coffee and tea are developed using a patent-pending hydrodynamic cold extraction process.

This process is claimed to preserve the natural aromas, flavours, and textures of cold brew coffees and teas, as well as remove bitterness from the products.

Fogdog Cold Brew's founder and chief executive officer Alex Siow said: “Many coffee and tea connoisseurs prefer cold brew because it maintains so much flavor and aromatic authenticity.

“By brewing the beverage with very cold, fast-moving water, we are able to extract the flavours that people want, while also virtually eliminating the bitterness associated with other products in the category.”

"Many coffee and tea connoisseurs prefer cold brew because it maintains so much flavor and aromatic authenticity."

The firm offers cold brew dark roast coffee and several varieties of cold brew teas such as Scarlet Red and Golden Oolong.

Fogdog claimed that the proprietary process used to prepare the products extracts more of the natural oils, resulting in a slight viscosity and natural creaminess.

The products contain simple ingredients, such as coffee beans or tea leaves, along with water and do not contain any additives such as sugar, preservatives, or dairy products.

The aromatic oils and flavours are extracted from coffee beans and tea leaves at below 38°F.
