Producer of alcoholic beverages Bevistol has contracted Lanes Group to move waste released drink production for anaerobic digestion.

Bevistol is making daily tanker collections of 150m³ waste water during cider production at  its Ledbury plant in Herefordshire. The company's project manager Tim Powell said: "Lanes is doing a fantastic job for us. Their service is very efficient and high quality."

In addition, the UK beverage producer has also signed an agreement with the Severn Trent Water for the processing of the waste matter in its Netheridge sewage treatment plant near Gloucester.

Bevisol has developed its own method for blending production waste so it has a chemical and biological balance suited for treatment at Severn Trent Water's other anaerobic digestion plants, if required.

"Bevistol is making daily tanker collections of 150m³ waste water during cider production at its Ledbury plant."

Powell further added: "Because we can guarantee that our effluent has the right pre-treatment balance for whichever plant it is going to, Severn Trent Water's costs are minimised, so our disposal fees are reduced as well.

"Lanes Group's tankering service is the third element in a supply chain that has benefits for all concerned, which is an ideal situation".

Lanes Group expects to transport approximately 40,000m³ of cider effluent every year for Bevisol. Its Severn Trent water contract manager Roland Leslie said: “We are delighted to be supporting Bevisol in this way. We have a dedicated driver making up to five journeys a day in a 30,000 litre tanker to service Bevisol's requirements.

“Our close working relationship with Severn Trent Water means we can provide Bevisol with all the support it needs to ensure their production effluent is managed effectively.”
