Latitude Beverage Company has launched wine varietals Provence Rosé, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Italian Pinot Grigio, under the Lila Wines brand, in cans in the US.

The drinks are packaged in bright pop-art inspired cans, which are claimed to be made of 100% recyclable materials.

The company claims that its Lila Wines are gluten free, low in calories and carbs, and contain no added sugar, which makes them an on-the-go alternative to carb-filled beers, ciders, and malt beverages.

“Lila Wines are for active, adventurous wine drinkers who value convenience but don’t want to sacrifice quality.”

Each 8.4oz aluminium can is coated with a custom lining, which helps in maintaining the quality and characteristics of each varietal, ultimately keeping the wine fresh.

Latitude Beverage Company president and co-founder Kevin Mehra said: "Lila Wines are for active, adventurous wine drinkers who value convenience but don’t want to sacrifice quality.

"Keeping with our mission of providing premium quality wine at a lower price point, canning the varietals that consumers love is very important to us. We are confident Lila Wines will be the life of the party this summer season and beyond, making wine more accessible, versatile and fun."

Lila Wines has been rolled out in 35 states of the US, following which it will be launched in the remainder of the US.

The drinks can also be purchased online, with direct shipping available in 32 states. They come in four-packs of 8.4oz cans and carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $12.99.

The company claimed that each Lila Wines package contains 33% more wine than a regular 750ml bottle, and has around 12%-12.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), depending upon varietal.
