US-based alcoholic beverages firm LiDestri Spirits has introduced new Cask & Crew whiskey, with straight and flavoured expressions in the US.

The new expressions are prepared using a combination of 51% three-year-old Canadian rye with 49% classic barrel aged American corn whiskey, resulting in a smooth taste with smoky and sweet flavours.

The firm is initially launching these in the Cask & Crew range, which includes a straight blend of rye and whiskey with 40% alcohol by volume, as well as Walnut Toffee and Ginger Spice with 35% alcohol by volume.

LiDestri Spirits' vice-president Joe Ragazzo said: "Brown flavoured spirits are really having a moment.

"We wanted to create something that was complex enough to appeal to whiskey aficionados, yet inviting enough to be an intriguing experience for people exploring whiskey for the first time."

The firm has used new American oak casks for the distillation of the new expressions. With plans for further expansion of distribution, Batch 1 of the initial launch is currently available for purchase in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, Maryland, and Kentucky.

It is expected that 22,500 bottles produced in Batch 1 will be sold out by this March.

A subsidiary of LiDestri Food & Drink, LiDestri Spirits produces high-proof spirits, liqueurs, wine-based products, cream liqueurs, wines, and other custom or specialty liquor-based products. The firm also provides contract manufacturing for these beverages.
