Planet H2O has launched its artesian bottled water in the US.

The company has extracted the water from the freshwater aquifer, which is nearly one mile below the earth’s surface, sealed near Linden, Tennessee. Planet H2O discovered the aquifer in 2012.

Called Planet H20, the bottled water contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and silica, which promote good health and growth.

"We have developed a world-class premium, natural artesian water resource."

It is also claimed to be tritium-free, and to contain several other surface contaminants.

The company claims that water is said to have slowly filtered through 500 million-year-old rocks.

The water is bottled at the source in a newly constructed facility that utilises solar technology.

Planet H2O president Jim Bruner said: "We have developed a world-class premium, natural artesian water resource.

"Once we received the results from a number of water quality studies showing the level of purity, we then began construction on a state-of-the-art production facility."

"We’re targeting the health-conscious consumer, providing great-tasting and pure alkaline water with minerals that are the cornerstone of a healthier lifestyle," adds Bruner.

Planet H2O will be available for purchase in stores at Tennessee and Atlanta and at amazon.com from mid-July.
