The firm has purchased two buildings, which it plans to renovate to accomodate a museum, visitor centre and office space.

"We simply could not be happier than to have the opportunity to restore such beautiful buildings to their former glory."

The museum aims to provide guests with information on the history of Sazerac cocktail and other New Orleans brand,s as well as on bourbon, rum and cocktail industries of New Orleans, reported Bevnet.com.

These buildings will also feature a gift shop and accommodate 45 new employees.

Sazerac president and chief executive officer Mark Brown said: “We simply could not be happier than to have the opportunity to restore such beautiful buildings to their former glory, in a perfect location, so close to the original site of the Sazerac Coffee House that will act as our future New Orleans homeplace."

In 1992, the firm acquired Buffalo Trace Distillery, which currently employs 500 executives.

The buildings will be restructured by historic preservation architects Trapolin-Peer and Ryan Gootee General Contractors. The work is expected to be complete by late 2018.

Within its first year of operation, The Sazerac House expects to attract 100,000 visitors, reported Thespiritsbusiness.com.
