The Coca-Cola Company has issued a recall of some Hubert's Lemonade as there may be presence of glass in some bottles.

Products that have been recalled include 16 fluid ounces of original, strawberry, blackberry and watermelon flavours.

The company also stated that only 42,000 cases were distributed to retail outlets in the US.

"Products that have been recalled include 16 fluid ounces of original, strawberry, blackberry and watermelon flavours."

It also added that it had received some complaints from consumers though no injuries were reported.

The company spokesperson was quoted by foodqualitynews.com saying: “We immediately identified production lots associated with product referenced by consumers and placed all potentially affected products under our control on hold.

“The beverages were produced at a co-packing facility in New Jersey. During the bottle prep process, prior to the bottles being filled, we experienced some breakage of bottles which resulted in small pieces of glass falling into a limited number of bottles prior to filling and capping

“To provide some perspective on the limited scope of the situation, we’ve been able to inspect tens of thousands of bottles and the defect rate does not appear to be any higher than one hundredth of one percent.

“This is voluntary recall of a limited amount of product. In an overabundance of caution we are voluntarily removing the product from the market and are communicating directly with retailers.”

The company stated it has communicated  to outlets where the products have been distributed. The products have not been distributed outside the US.
