Scott Harvey Wines, a California-based winery that produces wines under three labels: Scott Harvey Wines, Jana Winery and InZinerator, has released five new wines.

The new wines include Mountain Selection Syrah, Ultimo Beso – a red wine blend, and three wines under the Jana Wine label: Mendocino Old Vine Riesling, Jana Rosé Napa Valley, and Jana Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

Syrah, a 2011 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection, is a wine described by winemaker Scott Harvey as having creamy texture with big red berry and cherry fruit, aromas of blackberry, cedar, blueberry and sweet light oak, and spicy flavours of tannins and long finish.

The wine can be enjoyed now through 2021.

The red wine blend, 2011 Ultimo Beso, is a fruit forward, Zinfandel – Port – Barbera blend.

Harvey said, "I made this latest red blend in a full-bodied style with mouth-watering balance. The wine is full of spicy cloves and blackberry fruit and is designed to go well with any meat or pasta dish."

2012 Mendocino Old Vine Riesling is a new release under the Jana Wine label.

Harvey said this is a well-balanced, delicate wine that is very expressive and food friendly.

"You’ll notice its golden silver color. I like this wine’s bold aromas and flavors of apple pudding, Meyer lemon and poached peach. There’s a tangy medium body and long, pure wintermint and crunchy fruit tannin accented finish," he added.

The 2012 Jana Rosé wine is a light, crisp, low alcohol and dry style wine.

Harvey said, "This is a true European-type Rosé, well balanced, delicately structured wine with a light delicate pink color. Roses, white peach, strawberry sorbet, pink grapefruit, cranberry with just a hint of fresh carbonation on the finish."

The last wine under the Jana Wine label is 2012 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

Harvey said they drink this wine all through the summer because it is crisp and refreshing.

"The notes of lime and melon offer mouth-watering acidity and a clean, balanced finish. This will pair nicely with fish and light pork and chicken dishes, and is made to enjoy now through 2015," Harvey added.

All the five wines are now available for purchase in the Sutter Creek Tasting Room as well as on the Scott Harvey online wine store at scottharveywines.com from 1 June 2013.
