UK’s Heathrow Airport has created a new range of gin and tonic (G&T) T-bags that combine destination-inspired botanicals, herbs, teas and spices.

Produced using botanicals inspired by three of Heathrow’s top ten destinations, The G&T-bags have been released as part of the airport's eight-week-long Gin Festival.

More than 40 varieties of gin are sold at Heathrow, and of these three-quarters are British-made.

Every year, the Heathrow and World Duty Free stores sell nearly 250,000 bottles of gin, marking an average of approximately 700 bottles sold every day.

"We hope to bring people closer to some unique and exciting experiences with the unrivalled range of gin brands across our restaurants, bars and in World Duty Free stores."

Heathrow Retail and Service Proposition director Chris Annetts said: “Gin is a quintessentially British drink and a really popular choice for our passengers and the Gin Festival is a great way to celebrate this fantastic spirit.

“We hope to bring people closer to some unique and exciting experiences with the unrivalled range of gin brands across our restaurants, bars and in World Duty Free stores.”

The US G&T-bags feature a combination of red berries, hibiscus and apple for a sweet and rich taste, perfect for pairing with a juniper-based gin.

Sweden’s G&T-bags feature blends of jasmine tea, rose petals, hibiscus and apple, and spiced gin, while the Indian G&T-bag offers a sweet, sour and spicy fusion of lemon, orange, black pepper and cardamom.
