m2, a California-based winery, is building a new winery facility in Lodi that is scheduled to open in March 2014.

Located at 2900 Peltier Road, Acampo, California, the new facility will have a production area of approximately 9,500ft² and includes crush pad, fermentation room, barrel storage, wine lab and storage area.

Upon building the new facility, the winery will move from its current location at East Turner Road near Cluff Avenue in Lodi.

According to m2 winery owners, they have outgrown the current winery, which they have operated for the past seven years.

m2 partner Ted Woodruff told lodinews.com that metal buildings will be erected beginning from 16 July 2013, with winemaking scheduled to begin in September.

The plan also calls for adding a tasting room by the beginning of 2014 and a vineyard in the next year.

The winery does not own any vineyards but it has been sourcing grapes for its wines from the same vineyards since 2001 and 2002.

The company sources its Zinfandel from Lodi, Syrah from Amador County and Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa.

With 3,600ft² size, the current winery facility has a production capacity of around 3,000 cases of wine annually.

However, the new facility will allow the winery to produce 10,000 cases of wine per year.
