Two Birds Spirits, a UK-based craft distiller, has added a new spirit Two Birds Cocktail Gin to its portfolio that will be available exclusively in the UK on-trade market.

Distilled in a hand crafted copper still ‘Gerard,’ the gin offers strong juniper flavours that does not get diluted or changed when mixed with other ingredients and spirits.

Botanicals used in its preparation are initially subjected to cold and then to heat to allow gentle release of essential oils in the ingredients.

The spirit is then bottled at 40% ABV.

Two Birds Spirits co-founder and master distiller Mark Gamble said that being independent craft distillers, the company has the flexibility to experiment with new products and different flavour profiles as well as alcohol levels.

"After discussions with friends working in the drinks industry we saw there was a gap in the market for a stronger gin but not at an over-proof level. So we set about to create the perfect gin for cocktails; using exactly the same botanicals used in our London Dry Gin but altering our distilling profile to bring out the individual flavours," Gamble added.

"We believe that the Two Birds Cocktail makes for a strong juniper-led London Dry style gin whilst still at a moderate 40% abv."

Two Birds Cocktail Gin is currently available for purchase directly from Two Birds, Union Distillers.

Established in 2012, Two Birds Spirits produces a London Dry Gin, English Vodka and an Absinthe in small batches of 100 bottles.
